Description

This course provides a solid theoretical grounding in the principles of improvement science. Our aim is to offer a professional academic programme that draws on practical experience in quality improvement, introduces relevant research methods, and works together with participants to build a stimulating, supportive environment for intellectual development.

The course is set at advanced level and designed for healthcare professionals with existing experience of driving quality improvement work.

The aim is to bring participants’ knowledge and ability to the level needed to lead and sustain purposeful, long-term, quality-driven improvement work. This means being able to plan, lead, coordinate, implement, analyse, evaluate and develop operations with a focus on patient and customer satisfaction, and to lead results-oriented improvement and development initiatives. As part of the course, participants also carry out a practical improvement project.

The course integrates theory and practice in improvement science by developing participants’ knowledge and strategies for action. It also aims to build a network, giving participants a forum for reflection and the exchange of experience.

The course starts in August, with admissions running through spring. It is delivered on commission for the Region of Västra Götaland.
