Learn to lead systematic improvement work in healthcare. For managers who want to develop their organisation with a focus on quality.
About the course
The course “Improvement Science, 7.5 credits” provides a solid overview of the principles of improvement science and how to drive improvement work in healthcare. Particular emphasis is placed on the leader’s role in improvement work.
Our aim is to offer a professional academic programme that draws on practical experience in quality improvement, introduces relevant research methods, and works together with participants to build a stimulating, supportive environment for intellectual development.
The aim is to bring participants’ knowledge and ability to the level needed to lead and sustain purposeful, long-term, quality-driven improvement work. This means being able to plan, lead, coordinate and develop operations with a focus on customer satisfaction, and to lead results-oriented improvement and development initiatives.
The course also aims to build a network, giving participants a forum for reflection and the exchange of experience. By the end of the course, participants will have grasped the principles of quality improvement, gained a solid understanding of the key quality tools, developed strong knowledge and insight into improvement science, and be able to act as a leader for quality-driven operational development within their own area of responsibility.
