Certificate/Evidence of training
The results of participants who successfully complete the course are reported directly to the Swedish Transport Agency and subsequently become visible in the Swedish Seamen’s Register.
Note: Participants must apply for a renewed certificate themselves through the Swedish Transport Agency, which charges a fee for this service.

SEK 14,500 excluding VAT
Course literature and study assignments as well as lunch and coffee, are included in the fee.
Course literature
The necessary course material and study assignments will be distributed by e‑mail approximately 3–4 weeks prior to the start of the course.
Language
Kursen ges på svenska eller engelska efter behov (alla delar som omfattar terminologi, internationella publikationer samt kommunikation sker på engelska med fokus på standardiserade marina ord och fraser).
The course is offered in Swedish or English as needed. All components involving terminology, international publications, and communication are conducted in English, with an emphasis on standardized maritime terms and phrases.

Cancellation
A Participant may cancel their registration without charge up to four (4) weeks prior to the commencement date of the Course. Cancellations submitted after this deadline shall incur the following fees:
- 0–2 weeks prior to the commencement of the Course: 100% of the Course fee.
- 2–4 weeks prior to the commencement of the Course: 50% of the Course fee.
All cancellations shall be submitted in writing to sjofart@chalmers.se. The Participant may, without additional cost, designate a substitute attendee in their place.
In the event of illness, the Participant may cancel or reschedule their registration later than four (4) weeks prior to the Course start date, provided that a valid medical certificate is submitted. An administrative fee of SEK 1,000 shall apply.
Cancellations regarding accommodation shall be governed by the relevant hotel’s cancellation policy.

Course Participant profile
This course is intended for Deck Officers who hold a General Operator’s Certificate (GOC) that is more than five years old and who, during the past five‑year period, have accumulated less than one year of service on a GMDSS‑equipped vessel (in accordance with the STCW 2010 Manila amendments).
The course is also suitable for participants who simply wish to refresh or update their knowledge.
