About the course

This is an advanced course for those who want to serve on ships subject to the IGF Code. The course gives you all relevant knowledge and the certificate required for officers and other staff responsible at the operational level on ships using LNG as fuel. The course provides you with the necessary skills to contribute to the safe operation of ships using fuel with a low flashpoint.

An approved course provides a basis for special eligibility per requirements from the Swedish Transport Agency (TSFS 2011: 116 appendix 25).

Language

The course is given in Swedish if all of the attendees speak Swedish, otherwise it will be given in English. The course material is in English.

Certificate/Evidence of training

An approved course provides a basis for special eligibility per requirements from the Swedish Transport Agency (TSFS 2011: 116 appendix 25).

Course fee

SEK 19,000 excluding VAT

Course literature, study assignments, lunch, and coffee are included in the fee.

Course literature and study assignments are sent by e-mail approximately 10 days before the first day of the course.

Cancellation

You can cancel your registration free of charge up to 4 weeks before the start of the course. If you cancel later than that, you will be charged according to the following:

  • 0-2 weeks before the start of the course: 100% of the course fee
  • 2-4 weeks before the start of the course: 50% of the course fee.

 

Your cancellation of registration must be made in writing to sjofart@chalmers.se. We do accept a colleague instead of the original participant.

You cancel your accommodation following the hotel’s cancellation policy.

Johan Eliasson Lecturer of the Practice, Technical and Maritime Management
Johan Eliasson is responsible for the programme Marine Engineering as well as the engine room simulator. He teaches within the Marine Engineering Programme and the Master Mariner Programme.
